The Crystal Ep is KOJO's most direct virtual earth: a stick that terminates in the exact plug your spare socket takes. Inside, a special etched-foil aluminium element presents about 11,000 cm² of effective conductor area, giving the circuit it touches a far bigger ground reference than the chassis around it.
Choose the termination that matches a spare connection on the component: RCA for an unused analogue input, banana or Y-lug for a speaker or ground post, USB-A or USB-C for a streamer, XLR for a balanced spare, LAN for a network player (use a shielded LAN socket), HDMI for AV gear, or the 3.5mm mini for portables. It draws no power and changes nothing else about the system.
The effects live in the expected places: a quieter background, better separation, firmer outlines. Start with the component that handles the smallest signal.
