100V Japanese voltage: this is a Japan-spec unit. It suits JP-spec equipment, or Australian use through a step-down transformer. Ask us first if you are unsure.
DC offset on the AC line is the classic cause of a buzzing toroidal transformer, and it's increasingly common in homes full of hair dryers, heaters and switch-mode everything. The Crystal H1P puts bridge diodes in both power lines and uses their forward-voltage behaviour to cancel the DC component before it reaches your equipment.
A DC Sensor lamp glows brighter as more DC is detected, so you can see the problem you just fixed. The diode pairs sit on heat sinks in the middle of a straight, low-loss wiring path, and the chassis is the Crystal series' M.I.S. floating construction throughout. It chains with other Crystal taps, so its DC blocking can cover a whole row of outlets.
For the amplifier that hums at 7pm and not at 7am. Note: it fixes DC-caused hum; a transformer that buzzes for other reasons needs a different cure.
- Detects and suppresses DC components on the mains
- DC Sensor lamp shows the offset level
- Quiets DC-induced transformer buzz
- Chains with other Crystal series taps
