KOJO calls the idea "a closer earth, not a further earth". The Crystal E is a compact box filled with an eight-layer stack of stainless steel, brass and copper plates, each layer spaced 0.5mm from the next so the surfaces never fully touch. That stack gives the component you connect it to a much larger ground reference than its own chassis can offer, and the audible result is a lower noise floor: fine detail steps forward and the midrange fills out.
Setup is deliberately simple. Two 1.2m gold-plated earth cables come in the box: one RCA-to-Y for a spare analogue input, one Y-to-Y for a ground terminal or chassis screw. A second M4 terminal on the box accepts a link cable to another Crystal E later.
The starting point for virtual earth, and still the value pick. One per component, and a twin-pack exists for stereo separates.
